MAKOTO AKATSU / baroque violin and viola
Guest professor LUCA Campus lemmens instituut Leuven, Belgium
Director of Orchestra 'Van Wassenaer'
Born in Tokyo Japan. He did violin studies with Prof. Morioka at the Kunitachi Music College in Tokyo, studied the baroque violin with Mrs. Ono, and chamber music and viola da gamba with Mr. Shige. Alongside his violin studies, he conducted several choirs and orchestra.
Since 1987, he studied the baroque violin with Sigiswald Kuijken at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
In 1990 Makoto Akatsu founded the Orchestra 'Van Wassenaer' with which he has performed on numerous occasions.
He won second price in the 1991 International Early Music Ensemble Competition in Utrecht. In 1993 he obtained his soloist's diploma. Has performed and led La Petite Bande, Concert Currende, Les Talens Lyriques, Les Arts Florissants, Tafelmusic of Toronto, Nederlandse Bachvereniging, Bach Collegium Japan and many others.
He is actively performing concerts and giving master courses every year in Japan.
MARIAN MINNEN / baroque cello
After a “Master in Music” with great distinction at Leuven, Marian Minnen studied three years postgraduate at the conservatory of Amsterdam with
Dmitri Ferschtman and Ran Varon. In Amsterdam she started baroque cello in the class of Wouter Möller. Under the guidance of Jaap Ter Linden and Lucia Swarts, she graduated 4 years later in 2003 at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague as Historically Informed Musician.
International masterclasses she took with Colin Carr, Anner Bijlsma and Charles
Medlam.
In 2002 Marian Minnen was Laureate at the international concours Musica Antiqua
for soloists in Bruges. With the ensemble Rossi Piceno she won the second prize in
Musica Antiqua Bruges 2003 and Rovereto (Italy) 2004.
Since then Marian Minnen regularly plays concerts in and out Europe with La Petite Bande, Les Muffatti and B’Rock. She teaches in the Academie voor Muziek, Dans en Woord in Turnhout and in the high school Heilig Graf in the same city, preparatories cello for conservatory.

Participation fee : € 280 including lessons and accommodation.
Two nights&breakfast + four meals. Dormitory 10 persons.
