What is Orchestra Van Wassenaer

Founded in The Hague in 1990, the Orchestra 'Van Wassenaer' unites players who have been particularly influenced by the style of Sigiswald Kuijken. This common musical background gives the group a strong, unified sense of style and its own particular identity. The orchestra plays on period instruments, exploring the rich, surprisingly unknown repertoire of the high baroque and owes in name to the Dutch composer and statesman Count Unico Wilhelm van Wasseaner, whose 'Concerti Armonici' form the core of its repertoire. Having performed extensively in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany and Japan(1999 & 2014), the orchestra was invited to perform two times during Van Wassenaer Concours in The Hague, the 1997 Utrecht Oude Muziek Festival, the 21st Festival de Musica Antiga in Barcelona(1998) as well as in the 1999 Bach Week in Bruges, 800 years Commemoration of family Van Wassenaer(2000). Since 1999, started Japan tour every year with chamber music form. The Orchestra 'Van Wassenaer' consists of four violins, one viola, two violoncellos and harpsichord as a basic form, and can reduce forces for chamber music productions, or enlarge them for opera s and symphonies. As well as working together with several chorus groups for Passions and Cantatas.

The orchestra has recorded complete 'Concerti Armonici(2002, but unfortunately could not send to the market)'.
